The RadCon Primer For Kids
LESSON TWO
Little Timmy Gets Sick

What did you have for lunch today?
Was it red or orange or green?
Joey traded his banana for a Hershey bar.
Joey likes chocolate better than banana.

Little Timmy ate a banana that had radioactive isotopes in it.
Can you say radioactive isotope?
Timmy got sick in the lunchroom (and on the lunchroom) and had to go away.
Now the lunchroom is a CSCA (controlled surface contamination area).
Don't worry, we will have it all cleaned up by tomorrow.

Bill the janitor has to clean up little Timmy's mess.
Bill is a good janitor but he doesn't like messes.
What are some of the things he will use?
A mop? A sponge? A can of Lysol? Yes, all these things and more.
Bill will be using some special things today.
He will have one of those yellow bags, and he will be wearing Anti-C's (anti-contamination clothing).
Anti-C's keep Bill from ending up like little Timmy.

"Whew, it sure is hot with all these bright yellow clothes on," says Bill.

Bill looks like a funny spaceman.
I hope he remembered to go pee before he put all those clothes on.

Bud and Sally have now made a CPA for Bill so he can go into the CSCA.
We have a special name for the mess little Timmy made.
Do you know what it is? Watch your language!
It's called a "spill".
Once Bill has put the spill in his yellow bag it will be RAM.
See how easy RadCon is?

Some other people in funny yellow suits will come by later with grinders with big yellow hoses.
They will remove the places little Timmy got sick on.
Now Bill can go pee.
Before we go home we will all send little Timmy a Get Well Soon/Farewell card.
