Basic Christianity - A basic description of God and Christianity
In a discussion I had with an atheist, he complained that there was no one definition of God or even Christianity, and without first defining these terms we could not have a proper debate. He was right. Many "Christians" have varying opinions on what the Christian belief systems is, and yet we have this Bible which ought to provide us with a common basis for all "Christian" beliefs, so I set out to find it (the basis, not the Bible). I then spent the next four or five years coming up with this basic description of God and Christianity. I never heard back from the atheist.It should be noted that a basic Bible driven description of Christianity is similar to Christian Fundamentalism, and for this reason I initially entitled the description as "Fundamental Chritianity". I then changed it later because there are a lot of misconceptions among non or marginal Christians about what Fundamental Chritianity means. Rosi O'Donnel (among others) suggested that Christian Fundamentalism was in some way similar to Islamic Extreamism which was, at the time, being called Islamic Fundamentalism. (Well you know what they say, if your going to say something stupid, might as well say it on TV).
